Orientation
Rapid ideation, animation, and iteration using A/B testing. Check out a storyboard I made to the left to convey a concept to the team.
Situation
Beginning as a motion design intern for AppLovin while working on my bachelor's, I ended up working part-time with AppLovin for two years.
Problem
Digital marketing for a diverse array of partners with equally diverse viewers means that successful campaigns must be extremely flexible and responsive to the changing interests of these varied viewer groups.
Action
AppLovin's specialty is understanding and quickly adapting to data. If one month, hypercasual word gamers click, install, and keep games that have been marketed as relaxing, the next month, they might respond to games marketed as mentally stimulating. We adapt ads to these signals as fast as they change.
Result
Years of refining this process menas that AppLovin is one of the top game advertising platforms in the world. I am still impressed by the efficiency in which we had to, and were able to implement new data in real time. This efficient data-driven workflow is something I've brought with me into each new chapter.
Design Work
Process
Limited selection of work.
01 Looping GIFs
The simplest animated ads were simple looping gifs. The more eye-catching, silly, or emotionally-captivating, the better.

02 Advanced After Effects
While some ads required little editing of screenrecorded gameplay, other concepts required more advanced editing, such as the smoke particles and explosion effects on this truck.
03 Asset Illustration
Some concepts required new assets to be illustrated to match the game's style. Here is one example of an such asset and animation.
